The 'picking up the mess' week

I started work again this week after two weeks of holliday. I almost regretted going away because Monday was a disaster to find anything on my desk. Paper strewn all around, I'm sure they did it on purpose so that I never leave again. Though luck, going anyway.
Apparently a lot of things happened in those two weeks as well. They guy that was replacing my colleague for her pregancy leave has left, he is going to Turkey for the whole summer to entertain tourist at a holiday resort. They're not going to take him back again after three months, so that was a bit of a bust. Then I found out my colleague herself isn't coming back!!
She only wanted to come back on a half time base, but my boss didn't want to go for that, so she is staying home and looking for something else. The conclusion in all this is that with the ongoing crisis they're not going to employ anyone else to fill the position. So lucky me, I get to pick up everything from her job as well. It is going to be hell the coming weeks.
On the positive side our company is getting more orders, so we might be going out the year on a quite positive note. Which is veeeeery good for the employees! I hope so, because although it's hard work, I like working there. I'm finally getting used to it a bit and I get to do more fun stuff. Taking files to customers and going to info sessions: all in all I get out more and I love it! :)
Today the bf and I are going to look for a new heating system. Ours is botched since a few months and now that it is summer it's the time to look out for something. Could be a cost of 4000/5000 euros, which sucks :( But hot water is important as well.
Last night we went out for a drink with one of my ex-colleagues (and my bf colleague) and his wife. It was nice to talk to him again, since I hear he still asks news of me once in a while and they don't live far. We should do that more, but it's always the same thing... find the time.
Busy weekend ahead, so I say byebye!

And that especially at work... one of my big bosses is quitting. It was really strange on Thursdday, when they told us all that he was going to leave. He was just sitting there and when someone spoke of thanks, he bursted into tears.
It is difficult to know for sure, but rumours are already spreading through the company that his resignation wasn't of his own making. He probably wanted to honourably resign before they could fire him, but the day of his resignation he was already speaking to our competition.
Since he was boss of our commercial department, I was one of his direct assistants and we are all a bit searching for how it is going to be from now on. He is going to be there for another month, but of course he can't take any decisions anymore. It'll be hard in the next few months... but my direct boss of international projects likes my ideas. Next Wednesday my trial period will be over and I have a steady contract :). In these times of crisis that is something major.
At home everything is going great... busy times are ahead, with in February a lot of dates which are already occupied. We start off with a stand up comedian on Friday, then a visit to my friend with her new baby and the following Monday a sauna visit with Razul treatment! :D Relaxing!
But now there is first another few days of work ahead to get through. I hope everyone had a nice weekend and has a good week!

I have a new job!

Haha, yes! Finally! :D After months on months of searching I found something worth while. And the best thing is, they want me too! I signed my contract with Hertel today, that's a company which provides all kinds of building services, but my contract is in the department asbestos removal.
It's my job to look out for new sites where there is asbestos and where I can promote the company. That means mailings, phonecalls, developing brochures, giving feedback to the boss, a lot of reading... I can do something with my studies of communication. The pay isn't great, but in a whole I'll be earning as much as I would now. But there is a chance on promotion and raises, which I don't have now.
It's something different and most importantly, I won't be working together with Tom anymore, which is good for the both of us when we'll be living together.
So.. YIIIIHAAAAAAA!!!!

I want another job!

I am sooooo pissed off at the moment! My job is really getting too much for me and I want out of it, as soon as possible.
We had to help in a store near the French border today, which is about a two and a half hour drive from where I live, if there isn't too much traffic. We had to help and pack because the store would be renovated. All good and well, we were done at about midday and we were about to leave there when our boss called. If we could go and help in another store!
There were 8 men already present in that other store to make the inventory. When we arrived there they were busy with scanning the clothing, which is the next to last thing. They were done, with our help, at 3 pm. So without, that would make like half an hour less. Normally, I would have been home at 2.30 pm, instead, it was 5 pm. And all that for something where we didn't need to be.
Tom didn't even seem to care, except for a 'hey honey', I didn't get much more. But I know that he was busy so I try not to think about that. That is just because I'm feeling so tired... I'm doing twelve hour days again and it's not going to get better in the upcoming week :(. Anyone feel like jumping up and down with me in frustration?
PS: Tom and I called each other and we were both disappointed that the other didn't give more attention lol. But we'll make it up in the weekend.

Cuppy Cake Song!

My day has been lousy to say the least.. but I had a little bit of luck as well. Two of my co-workers had a fight in the early morning about the carpool meeting point and they were fighting a cold war. In other words, neither of them was talking to each other. Very nice when you have to actually communicate to work together.
One of them, Jenny, is an older woman of about 56 years old and she really can't go along with us anymore. She makes mistakes, a lot of them, and is very slow. Today we had a big store which was really meant for 8 people, but because someone fell sick, we were with 7. Because Jenny is so slow, well, you can reduce that number to 6. Result: Home at 8.30 pm. I left my house at 6.30 am.
Naturally, nobody was all too pleased with Jenny. She had started the fight with my other colleague, and she was the responsable person for the day, so she would have to make the appointments for today. She didn't and then she also claims that we didn't tell her anything about the appointments. We did and she isn't even allowed to get angry because she wasn't doing her job right! I can get so aggravated by her at times -sighs-.
Tom made everything alright though. I texted him to say that I still was in the store and he told me to look in my mailbox when I was home.
This was in it: http://www.sendspace.com/file/73a7ns
Together with the message that it was especially for me and that he loved me. :) So yeah, I'm tired as hell, but relaxed.
